Terms of Service

Note: These terms are an interim summary of the agreement between Hauf and Son and customers requesting route coverage. A formal version reviewed by counsel will be published here once finalized. By submitting a coverage request, you agree to the terms below as written today.
1. Service Description
Hauf and Son provides bread route relief coverage to independent distributors across the Phoenix metro area. This includes vacation coverage, emergency coverage, pull-ups, and related route services for brands we are familiar with, including Bimbo Bakeries USA and its umbrella brands.
2. Equipment Responsibilities
Unless arranged otherwise in writing, the route owner ("Client") is responsible for providing the equipment required to run the route, including:
- Delivery truck or van
- Handheld scanner and printer
- Fuel
- Access credentials for store and warehouse systems
If the Client cannot provide one or more of the above, Hauf and Son may supply its own equipment for an additional fee. The current rate for full equipment coverage is approximately $150 per day, plus fuel reimbursement at actual cost. Final pricing is confirmed in writing before coverage begins.
3. Pricing
Standard rates are quoted on a per-day or per-route basis:
- Daily route coverage: starting at $300/day
- Pull-ups: $100–$115 per route
- Additional fees may apply for client-provided equipment alternatives, oversized routes, or last-minute coverage.
Final pricing for each engagement is confirmed in writing (via email, text, or in-app message) before service begins.
4. Payment Terms
Payment is due upon completion of service, or on a weekly cadence for ongoing coverage spanning multiple days. Accepted payment methods:
- Zelle (preferred)
- Venmo
- Cash App
Invoices unpaid more than 14 days past completion may incur a late fee and may pause future service until resolved.
5. Booking, Cancellation, and Changes
Coverage requests submitted through the website are confirmed via email once accepted. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled coverage date may be subject to a partial cancellation fee, depending on whether an alternate route was declined to honor the original booking. Same-day or no-show cancellations may be billed at the full daily rate.
6. Independent Contractor Relationship
Hauf and Son operates as an independent contractor. We are not employees, agents, or subcontractors of the Client's distributor, parent brand, or any retailer served by the route. Each engagement is a discrete service arrangement and does not create an ongoing employment or partnership relationship.
7. Limitation of Liability
Hauf and Son will use reasonable care in performing all route work. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost route earnings beyond the value of the service performed, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct. Damage claims related to product, equipment, or store relationships must be raised within 7 days of service.
8. Updates to These Terms
These terms may be updated as the formal agreement reviewed by counsel is finalized. The version in effect for any given booking is the version published on this page at the time the coverage request is submitted.
